About Course
In a context which to achieve climate neutrality is of great vitality to guarantee the planet future, agriculture may play a key role in the mitigation of global climate change. In this sense, the EU is committed to assure the achievement of this challenge by a set of goals developed in the 2030 Agenda and the CAP that farmers must be accomplish. Thus, by the adoption of new agricultural practices, an important reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and, consequently, the minimization of carbon footprint could be achieved. Hence, by the end of the present module you will acquire some knowledge about:
– Process of transformation of carbon from the air to organic carbon stored in the soil.
– Agricultural practices that favor carbon capture in vineyards.
– Methodologies and systems that allow quantifying the amount of carbon captured in the soil.
– Next European steps for CO2 elimination certification and emerging opportunities in the agricultural sector.
To successfully finish this course you do not need any prerequisite knowledge. Nonetheless, a basic understanding of carbon emissions in agriculture is beneficial.
